Saturday night, booze runs out,
Add one to the #melb page count.
When you arrive, 'twas updated again.

A more "complete" website does exist but it was thrown together overnight for non-humourous purposes, as opposed to this one which was thrown together overnight for.. well.. at least I'm trying to seem clever tonight via this quasi-creative burp.

I've been an on-and-off regular of #melbourne since about 1997, though strangely enough still don't really know that many people in the channel in any meaningful sense of the word. This leads to a lot of quiet sitting around on my part when I make an odd appearance here or there, though the initial surprised "Oh, hi!'s" are nice.

Milko ambushed me )o:

Here's a snap of myself at a #melbourne meet back in '98 (maybe).
The expression held at the time was a combination of annoyance at some goon jumping out brandishing a polaroid,
and a glazed-over bored thing. Whirly was rude to me at this meet too.

My hobbies include excessive self-analysis, liking stuff that some people don't like but other people do, making obscure references (including but not restricted to thrashing the hell out of my mIRC popups) that only one or two people actually understand (on a good day), excessive self-analysis, balancing somewhere between being too enthusiastic and.. blah, laughing at things long after they stop being funny, excessive self-analysis, and that's all I can think of for now.

I'd like to take this opportunity to brag about my new job at RLM Systems. They made me take a short course in Ada, but other than that, things are going okayish. JORN is big and good and big, and I'm pretty damned pleased about landing this job straight out of Uni, so there. Was planning on mentioning something about a job interview I had with Connect a few weeks earlier, but have decided against it.

Contrary to what Netz would like to think, I don't actually do most of my stupid IRC things in real life. Sorry.
